New Head Coaches

Fort Bend Christian Academy is entering the 2018-19 school year with three new head coaches, all of which are experienced athletes and mentors. IMG_7280

Joi M. Bishop

Mrs. Bishop will serve as the Head Varsity Cheer Coach.

She is the founder and commissioner for Cy-Fair Sports Association’s Dazzlers, a middle school dance program. She has choreographed for Bowl Games of America as well as high school dance and cheer teams in Cy-Fair, Alief and Fort Bend.

Her plans for FBCA reach deeper than teaching the cheerleaders dance moves. Christian mentorship is very important to Joi, as she has volunteered with Young Life (YL) for six years and hopes to be actively involved with the Fort Bend Christian Academy YL chapter.

Preston Smith

Mr. Smith will serve as the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.

He has coached at various schools including St. Pius X High School, Houston Baptist University and St. John 23 High School. Most recently, Smith served as the Master Coach at F01 Volleyball Club (now Katy United).

Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Texas Wesleyan University.

Marcus (Marc) Jones

Mr. Jones will serve as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach.

Lettering in three sports in high school, Jones is a natural athlete with a love of sports, especially baseball. He has won multiple awards including Coach of the Year at Kempner High School in 2015 and 2016.

As a coach, he has helped lead teams to 335 game victories, and he plans to continue a record of success at FBCA.
