FBCA Alumna Creates Event-Planning Company
Lauren Bazunu, FBCA class of 2006, is the creator of her own event planning company, Toast from the Host™. Further developing her business concept in 2015, Lauren created Toast & Twirl workshops™ to collaborate with like-minded creatives.
“Mix, mingle and make memories, that’s my party mantra,” Lauren said.
With her experience with all types of event-planning, Lauren has plenty of advice for classroom parties. She recommends having the students craft some of the decoration.
“I had a great start at FBCA with Ms. Meyer as my third grade teacher,” Lauren said. “She was always encouraging in our classroom creativity which developed my confidence in being creative.”
Bazunu also recommends providing guests the opportunity for DIY projects which double as a party favor. These “craftivities” should fit the theme of the party, engage the guests and provide a memento from the day.
In addition to event planning, Lauren also owns Twirl Cotton Candy, a mobile, gourmet treat cart available for rent.
